Learn About Your Neighborhood
Friends of Sugar Loaf is dedicated to increasing fire safety in the district by sponsoring events to educate and reach out to residents. In addition to the Green Sign Program (a neighborhood initiative to help residents identify their street address with a green sign so that firefighters can find their location when responding to an emergency call), Friends of Sugar Loaf sponsors annual CPR and First Aid classes for community members and invites speakers to come to the district to discuss fire safety, forest, and property mitigation. In addition, Friends of Sugar Loaf is working to develop New Resident packets to get fire safety and mountain living information to new residents within a short time of move-in. We will be hosting Sugarloaf Summer School classes each year. Check the calendar and blog for event details.
Help us spread the word about the Sugar Loaf Fire Department and Friends of Sugar Loaf non-profit group by volunteering for Outreach and Education. Help us plan educational events, organize social gathering in the community, or bring your own ideas for reaching and educating more of our community about fire safety and mountain living.
