A message from the board

As President of the Friends of Sugar Loaf (FOSL) Board, I’m so excited to see the Friends of Sugar Loaf continue to grow and evolve! Working closely with Fire Department leadership and the District Board, our mission is simple: to support the district in all of its core activities while strengthening our community along the way. Our work focuses on three main areas:

Building Community

We love bringing neighbors together through events like our annual picnic, egg hunt and Halloween trunk-or-treat. These community gatherings are such a special part of what makes feel like home.

Promoting Education & Preparedness

We’re committed to advancing our outreach and education around natural disaster readiness and wildfire prevention. As part of that effort, we’re updating our website (www.sgrlf.org) to serve as a go-to resource for community news and important information.

Supporting our Fire Department

Through fundraising events such as our Fall Craft Fair and our support of the Spring Garage Sale, we help raise critical funds for the department.

As a nonprofit organization, FOSL is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors. I’m grateful to serve alongside Diana Costello, our Executive Director, and Tracy Fives, our Treasurer and Board liaison to the SLFPD Board. We’re also thrilled to welcome several new leaders: Jen Klausmeier, leading our Marketing team; Jenni Milliken, leading Outreach + Education and Mary Beth Corrigan, leading Community Gatherings. As we continue to grow, there are so many ways to get involved. Whether you’re interested in volunteering at an event or exploring a board position, we would love to have you join us.

Finally, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dan Conser for his incredible dedication and service as a founding board member and Treasurer. Dan has been instrumental in launching and shaping FOSL, and we are deeply grateful for all his hard work.

Thank you for being part of this amazing community.

Gina Lasky
